As Q4 2023 wraps up, the puzzle and riddle gaming category has shown some fascinating trends in Australia on the unified platform. Data sourced from Sensor Tower gives us a glimpse into how the top five games in this genre have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.

Brain Test: Tricky Puzzles experienced a dip in downloads from 17K in the last week of September to 7K in the third week of October, before rebounding to 13K by the year's end. The game generated revenues that fluctuated, peaking at $737K in the final week of December. Weekly active users started at 81K, dipped to 59K in late October, and then increased to 76K by the last week of December.

For DOP 5: Delete One Part, which did not generate revenue, downloads saw an initial increase from 13K to 15K in early October, then a decline to 6K by Christmas week. The weekly active users followed a similar trajectory, peaking at 23K in early October before falling to 15K at the end of the quarter.

TapNation's game, Thief Puzzle: to pass a level, showed a revenue increase from $19K to $71K throughout the quarter. Downloads for the game also increased from 7K to 9K, while active users saw a significant rise from 16K to 19K.

Lastly, Family Tree! - Logic Puzzles showed a decline in revenue from $1.2K to $255K, with downloads falling sharply from 20K to just under 1K before partially recovering to 3K. Active users, however, remained relatively stable, ranging from 43K to 48K throughout the quarter.
